Blue Star Museums is a partnership between the National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families, in collaboration with the Department of Defense and museums across America, offering free admission to the nation’s active-duty military personnel and their families, including National Guard and Reserve.
The free admission program is available for those currently serving in the United States Military–Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Space Force, Coast Guard–including Reservists, National Guardsman (regardless of status), U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corp and up to 5 family members. Qualified members must show a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID), or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card for entrance into a participating Blue Star Museum. The program begins on Armed Forces Day in mid-May and ends on Labor Day at the beginning of September. *This free admission is not applicable for programs & special events. |
The cost of museum admission can be a barrier for many low-income families. The Long Island Maritime Museum provides reduced admission of $3.00 to visitors presenting their EBT card.
This reduced rate is available during all normal operating hours to up to four individuals per EBT card. With a year-round open door policy, Museums for All invites low-income visitors to feel welcome at cultural institutions. *This reduced admission is not applicable for programs & special events. |
