The Long Island Maritime Museum is committed to the research, preservation and interpretation of our region’s rich nautical heritage and the role of Long Island in our national maritime story. Whether it’s boat building, shipwrecks, shellfish harvesting or recreational boating that captures your imagination, it’s all here under our roofs, in our galleries and at our many events and programs. WE NEED YOUR HELP! I would like to thank all our museum members, friends, and local community members who have contacted us to express their concern and support for the Museum. We are doing all we can to be sure the Museum will open to enjoy in the coming months. Like so many other organizations, we have been greatly affected by the COVID Pandemic. Our largest fundraising events, The Seafood Festival, Trustee Recognition Dinner, and Halloween Boat Burning have been cancelled. These are very uncertain times for the Museum, however one thing is certain: we need financial assistance immediately if we are to keep our doors open for the enjoyment of all Long Islanders. Mid-Winter Break Program
February 15 - February 19, 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM and 10:00 AM through 4:00 PM children grades 1 through 5 
Join us, from the comfort of your own home, for virtual stories and crafts using the materials provided in your Craft-To-Go kit. Go on an educational scavenger hunt on Museum grounds using our fun activity sheet. Complete the sheet and pick up a reward at the Museum's visitor services desk.
