About the Long Island Maritime Museum

Blue Point Oyster Dredging and Sailing Lecture

Learn about how Blue Point oysters were harvested and processed as part of a tour of the
National Historic Landmark Rudolph Oyster House led by shellfish historian Jeff Kassner.

Then, learn about the history of the 1888 National Historic Landmark oyster sloop Priscilla
during a guided tour by Captain Mike Caldwell, Sailing Program Director.

Optional Sunset Sail

After the lecture, participants are invited to join Captain Mike and sail on Priscilla at 4:30pm.  This is on a first
come first serve basis (14 max) at a special reduced rate of $25 per person, $20 for seniors, and $10 for
children 12 & under.  Please contact the museum to reserve your place for this unique experience.
